Designers at Rosemont Australian Fashion Week channelled hair sponsor ghd's current advertising campaign and showed off their dark and purer sides with white, black, cream and grey a recurring theme. ghd partnered with 11 fashion brands including RAFW highlights Alex Perry, Michelle Jank, Zimmermann and Easton Pearson and newcomers Daniel Avakian and Friedrich Gray.
Friedrich Gray and Daniel Avakian showed off the dark side, whilst Marnie Skillings, Zimmerman and Easton Pearson were more pretty and pure, opting for a refreshing splash of colour throughout their collections. In association with five leading stylists - Renya Xydis, Sophie Roberts, Jayne Wild, Daren Borthwick and Jon Pulitano - ghd created a number of leading looks throughout the week; some intricate, detailed and dramatic, others simple, soft and wearable. Sophie Roberts directed the hair for Alex Perry, Zimmermann, Shakuhachi and Ruby Smallbone. Alex Perry approached ghd to direct hair at his RAFW show after a successful collaboration as part of Australia's Next Top Model. According to Perry: "We had an amazing shoot and ghd styled the most extraordinary hair... so European, so glamorous... ultimately Perrylicious!"Renowned session stylist Renya Xydis teamed with ghd at Easton Pearson and the debut of much hyped newcomer, Daniel Avakian. On collaborating with ghd, Daniel comments: "An eye for detail and innovation are two attributes that draw ghd and Daniel Avakian together. Partnering with ghd ensures that our models look perfect every time".RAFW 2008 also saw Daren Borthwick make his debut as a ghd hair director, styling Michelle Janks' highly anticipated show. ghd Directive team member Jon Pulitano created the hair for Friedrich Gray, Konstantina Mittas and Manning Cartell, while long time ghd stylist ambassador Jayne Wild continued to create beautiful runway hair for Marnie Skillings.
