“Come fly with me… let’s go on an inspirational journey together!” exclaimed Matrix Global Design Team Member Errol Douglas as he enthusiastically opened the Turkey leg of the Matrix world tour. With a highly acclaimed team of industry artists standing before more than 1600 eager audience members, it’s not hard to see why the masses flocked.
Drawing crowds of thousands around the globe throughout the year on the Matrix World Tour, Turkey was no exception attracting audience members from 15 countries including Turkey, Sweden, India, Russia, Poland and Australia as they sat on the edge of their seats, enthralled by an extravaganza of on-stage demonstrations by leading Matrix Global Artists.
October 16-18 saw acclaimed artists including Errol Douglas, Paul Falltrick and Australia’s own Benni Tognini take to the stage, imparting their expertise on the masses by leading live demonstrations and seminars in the latest styling, cutting and colouring techniques.
Kicking off the three day spectacular with the Come Fly With Me Show it pertained a catwalk influence and a nostalgic nod to the 60s and 70s with sharp cuts and the infusion of soft waves.
Displaying his unique approach to education, Benni Tognini presented The Final Countdown, a show surrounding a behind the scenes look into the madness of backstage fashion shows that was praised by audience goers.
“I wanted to welcome delegates to a world of passion, innovation and fashion. My show was designed to expose the journey backstage, what it takes to be a leading stylist and the people involved in the process,” Benni explained.
“I really wanted to veer away from commercial looks and inspire stylists to think outside the box.”
Wrapping the tour up with the Dark Side of Beauty the audience was taken on a gothic journey through white hair, high volume of texture and towering shapes inspired by a medieval church media wall.
To close the spectacular three-day experience jam-packed with shows and events, country representatives held up their national flags on stage, highlighting the true ‘global’ presence of Matrix. Following the ceremony, delegates embarked on a journey home to spread the inspiration and passion within their local communities, having witnessed yet another successful chapter of the Matrix World Tour expedition.
